Monday, October 24 2022, 12pm Miller Learning Center, Registration Required (See below) This year marks the 40th anniversary of the publication of All the Women Are White, All the Blacks Are Men, But Some of Us Are Brave, an anthology that solidified Black Women's Studies as a field of inquiry centering the voices, experiences, and intellectual contributions of Black women. These may take the form of conventional papers, as well as creative work, including poetry, fiction, playwriting, visual arts, and dance informed/inspired by But Some of Us Are Brave. Awarded students will display/perform/discuss their work at a symposium to be held in Spring 2023. Applications should be submitted to TLHAT@uga.edu (with the subject line "BRAVE Proposal") and include the student’s name, contact information, and degree program, as well as a 1-2 paragraph summary of the planned creative responses. Applications will be accepted until November 18 and decisions will be made by December 1. Contact TLHAT@uga.edu for more info.
