Dax Ovid (she/they) joined the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine as an Assistant Professor January 2023. They study discipline-based education research in biology, focusing on the new undergraduate major in Biomedical Physiology. Their new research group is called the Collaborative Opportunities for Research in Physiology and Under/Graduate Science (CORPUS) Education Lab, which focuses on who is represented in our curriculum, what we say that shapes classroom learning environments, and how we can engage science students in cross-cultural humility and advocacy for a more equitable society. Dax completed a postdoc with San Francisco State University and has a PhD in Integrative Biology from UC Berkeley.
