Ryan Schey is Associate Professor of English Education in the Department of Language and Literacy Education in the Mary Frances Early College of Education at the University of Georgia. Drawing on ethnography and teacher inquiry, his research examines literacy and language practices and social change in schools, focusing on queer and trans youth and the educators who work with them. Before completing his Ph.D. in Education at The Ohio State University, he taught high school in central Ohio.
