Founding Director Professor Emerita Dr. Pat Del Rey was the Founding Director of Women's Studies at the University of Georgia. She served as Director of the Women's Studies Program from 1988 to 2001. Dr. Del Rey retired from UGA in 2001, but returned to teach WMST 7010: Graduate Introduction to Women's Studies until 2016. She retired from Oxford College Emory University on January 1, 2020 after 13 years there teaching women’s, gender, and sexuality studies.
