Sr. Lecturer

Nichole Ray is a lecturer in the Institute for Women’s Studies at the University of Georgia. She earned a Ph.D. in Adult Education in 2007 with a research focus on the careers of Black women faculty working in research universities. Nichole has taught several courses in Women’s Studies, including Multicultural Perspectives of Women in the U.S., Introduction to Women’s Studies, Black Feminism, Critical Feminist Readings, and graduate seminars on bell hooks and Black Women's Narratives. She is also a member of the Institutes curriculum committee and has served on the planning committee of the Women and Girls in Georgia Conference, sponsored by the Institute for Women’s Studies.

She has been an active participant in the life of the Institute since 1995, as a freshman.
