Assistant Professor, Undergraduate Coordinator for Institute for Disaster Management

Dr. Michelle Ritchie is an assistant professor and undergraduate coordinator at the Institute for Disaster Management in the College of Public Health.  She is also faculty in the Department of Health Policy & Management and affiliate faculty in the Environmental Ethics Certificate Program. She holds a dual-title Ph.D. in geography and climate science from Penn State.  She primarily uses qualitative, spatial, and participatory methods to conduct her research, which focuses on human-environment relationships and disaster risk reduction in coastal and rural environments.
