Thomas worked at Slate magazine for over twenty years, most recently as Senior Managing Producer of the Slate Podcast Network. She is currently the co-host of Slate’s Working podcast, having previously co-hosted The Waves, Slate’s podcast about gender and feminism, and founded Outward, Slate’s LGBTQ podcast. In June, Seal Press will release Thomas’s book A Place of Our Own: Six Spaces That Shaped Queer Women’s Culture, a deeply researched and highly readable cultural history of queer women’s lives in the second half of the twentieth century, told through six iconic spaces.
