Women's Studies major, Jaaie Varshney, selected as 2022 Outstanding Honors Student in the Social Sciences

Congratulations to Women's Studies major, Jaaie Varshney, for being selected by the University of Georgia Morehead Honors College as a 2022 recipient of the Outstanding Honors Student in the Social Sciences award.

This award recognizes Jaaie's outstanding academic record, as well as the dedication, skill, and commitment to excellence she has exemplified throughout her participation in experiential opportunities, student and community organizations, and collaborative learning environments. Kudos to Jaaie!

Congratulations to Elise Robinson, Graduate Teaching Assistant in the Institute for Women's Studies and Ph.D. candidate in Theatre and Performance Studies, for receiving the 2022 Graduate School Excellence in Teaching Award. This honor recognizes Graduate Teaching Assistants for their outstanding efforts in instruction. Kudos to Elise!

Johnson-Bailey accepts Zenobia L. Hikes Award, 2022

IWS Director, Dr. Juanita Johnson-Bailey, received the 2022 Zenobia L. Hikes Woman of Color in the Academy award from Virginia Tech University. Dr. Johnson-Bailey, the 2018 University Professor, also holds a Josiah Meigs Distinguished Teaching Professorship, and is a professor of adult education in the Mary Frances Early College of Education’s Department of Lifelong Education, Administration, and Policy.
