Jieun Lee is a doctoral candidate at the University of Georgia, pursuing a PhD in Theater and Performance Studies. Jieun is also currently completing the Graduate Certificate in Women’s Studies at UGA and teaching Multicultural Perspectives on Women in the United States. Her research interest is the interactive and creative relationship between Korean and Korean-American theater, and theater of the Korean Diaspora. She presented her paper titled “Performing Transnational Adoption: Korean American Women Adoptees’ Autobiographical Solo Performances” at the 2015 American Society for Theater Research conference in Portland. She is currently working on her dissertation entitled Performing the Korean Diaspora in Contemporary Theater and Performance Art in the United States of America.
