Women's History Month

Every March, the Institute for Women's Studies coordinates and co-sponsors lectures, films, discussion panels, art exhibits, and more for Women’s History Month as well as publishes a poster highlighting those events. The keynote speech is the culminating event of Women's History month.

This year's keynote will be presented by Dr. Kellie Carter Jackson, a nationally known historian, speaker and educator. Her talk is titled "We Refuse: Black Women and a History of Resistance."

This event is part of the Global Georgia public event series of the Willson Center for Humanities and Arts, and is cosponsored by the Willson Center, the History Department, and the Hargrett Rare Book and Manuscript Library.
