Global Perspectives on Gender

Course Description: 
This course is designed as an analysis of the intersections among gender, race, class, and nation in different parts of the world. Central to the course is the critical examination of common assumptions about the relationship between the ‘first’ and ‘third’ worlds through the analysis of a range of substantive topics, which may include colonialism, nationalism, tourism, war, social protest, globalization, and immigration.
